Not Without Peril | The Maura Murray Blog

Not Without Peril is a forum where contributors present information and exchange ideas concerning Maura Murray’s disappearance.

Maura Murray grew up in Hanson, Massachusetts. She graduated from Whitman-Hanson High School and pursued a college degree, first, at West Point and then transferred to UMass Amherst.

On February 5, 2004, Maura’s work supervisor observed Maura in a “zombie-like” state at work. Maura, visibly upset, was taken to her dorm so that she could rest.

On February 8, 2004, Maura crashed her father, Fred Murray’s, car, near campus.

On February 9, 2004, Maura crashed her own car in New Hampshire.

She left the accident scene; what happened next is a mystery.

Recovered from Maura’s car, among other things, were two text books, a notebook and “Not Without Peril.”

I am not trying to “solve” this “case,” but I do have a question, and I can’t see where anyone asked it before: What “job” was Fred doing “out of state” the day Maura disappeared? He’s a radiologist. Why would a radiologist travel “out of state” for work in the middle of massive winter storm? Thanks!
